The Nerf Wildfire was the first fully automatic Nerf weapon, and it was a good one.

The Wildfire can shoot 20 darts rapid fire style, and it has a phenomenal max range at 50 feet. Unfortunately, it takes 45 pumps to prime the Wildfire, which really hurts (both strategically and physically).

More recent improvements to automatic blasters like the Rapid Fire 20 have made the Wildfire pretty much obsolete, but it still holds its own pretty well, and as a pioneer it has a place in every collector’s heart.

The Nerf Secret Shot 2 is a big upgrade from the original Secret Shot. It’s so much of an upgrade, in fact, that it’s almost silly that these guns share the same name.

Whereas the original Secret Shot used a spring firing mechanism, the Secret Shot 2 is an air blaster. It takes about eight pumps to fully prime the weapon, and for a single shot it really pays off, but the downside of course is that you have to pump eight times between every round.

It can still be a lot of fun to play with the Secret Shot, but there’s really no reason to buy one now when you can make very basic modifications to the Nite Finder and reach the same distance with a spring loaded gun.

If you're after some good gatling gun action, you can't go wrong with the Nerf Rapid Fire!

The Nerf Rapid Fire 20 is incredibly fun to play with thanks to its immensely satisfying Gatling gun action. Just load the Rapid Fire with 20 darts, prime it (20 pumps), and fire all 20 rounds in less than 3 seconds.

One of the cool features of the Rapid Fire 20 is that you can toggle between automatic and single fire modes. In single fire mode you can either fire the shots off one at a time with individual trigger presses, or hold the trigger down for a slower version of the automatic mode (it’ll take you about 11-12 seconds to unload all 20 rounds).

The Nerf Rapid Fire 20 has a range of about 20 feet (I’m sensing a recurring theme), which might sound low, but it keeps the gun from being overpowered compared to other Nerf guns. Balance is important, after all, and it’s easy to forgive the range when you can blast off 20 darts in 3 seconds. That’s just awesome.

Of course, one of the big pains when you have a gun that blows through rounds like the Nerf Rapid Fire 20 does is that you’re going to spend a lot of time gathering your darts, reloading and priming. This is not unique to this Nerf gun, though. Other rapid fire blasters like the Vulcan and Raider face the same problem, but in my opinion, having to reload frequently is a fine tradeoff.

The priming pump on the Rapid Fire is prone to breaking if you aren’t careful. As with all pump guns, slow steady pumps are best. Erratic pumps (as younger kids are prone to do) will wear out and possibly break the pump. Just be careful and your Rapid Fire will have a long life.

If you’re looking for a unique Nerf gun that will make your friends run for cover and hide (for at least 3 seconds), you’ll have a lot of fun with the Rapid Fire 20.

The Nerf Triple Strike boasts some very nice specs, including a sixty foot range and very nice accuracy that you rarely see on an arrow weapon.

The Nerf Triple Strike is a fantastic Nerf arrow weapon.

The Triple Strike can hold up to three arrows. The trigger has three different “catch” areas. Pulling the trigger back to the first catch area will fire the first arrow, the second catch area will fire the second, and so on. In other words, you can fire off three arrows without having to release the trigger. That’s pretty sweet.

The Nerf Triple Strike boasts some very nice specs, including a sixty foot range and very nice accuracy that you rarely see on an arrow weapon.

The downside is that it takes thirty pumps to fully prime the Triple Strike, so depending on your needs, the rate of fire may not be acceptable.

The Nerf Split Fire is an awesome gun. To prime the Split Fire, you just pump it three times. Pretty nice.

The Nerf Split Fire also features very nice range and accuracy for a weapon of its size.

Anyone would enjoy playing with this gun. The Split Fire is pretty much flawless.

The Nerf Lightnin’ Blitz is the first Nerf weapon that can fire four or more shots simultaneously.

The Lightnin’ Blitz requires about twelve pumps to effectively prime. When the trigger is pulled, air shoots out of all five barrels at the same time. The range is pretty good when five shots are fired simultaneously, but it would be nice if there was a way to concentrate the airflow to a single barrel in the event you wanted to shoot a single powerful shot.

Regardless, it’s a lot of fun to blast your opponents with five darts at the same time from decent range, and in that area, the Nerf Lightnin Blitz gets the job done.

The Nerf PowerClip DX 1000 is a truly amazing creation.

Inspired by the popular Super Soaker line, the Nerf PowerClip DX 1000 works off of air pressure. Pump the PowerClip 15 times, and you’ll be sending 10 darts 78 feet through the air at a rate of 8 darts per second.

This thing is flat out fun. Buy one.
